Load 'em up - move 'em on the road
Loading up the tools, long-term luggage, cooks supplies in the cargo vans. Short term luggage, lunch & snacks - and of course the pillow for the nap while traveling, in the travel vans. Mine's the white one ...... (ps they're ALL white)
Tool time tune up
The youth learn to use hand tools as well as power tools, including circular saws and pneumatic nailers (we make sure 10 fingers to start, 10 finger at the end of the day). The project was a Little Free Library and a Blessing Pantry. Each will be painted and placed around town for good use. Team Toby and Team RocketMan (Andrew Ring) did awesome jobs.
How we got ready
March saw out largest fundraising event ... the Big Event! Pasta dinner, talent show, silent and live auction. This year's theme was LIVE ON BROADWAY can you imagine Toby and Toby II (actually Roxy), scenes from Hamilton - what a blast
Where we are headed down to . . . . . Plymouth, NC
33 youth and adults from Mentor UMC will be heading to Plymouth, NC to work with CROSS, an organization sponsored by Pastor Jay Clark and the Plymouth UMC. Find out more about CROSS at www.crossnc.org Along the way we'll be stopping in Luray, VA at the Luray Caverns, staying overnight at Culpeper UMC in Culpeper, VA. Saturday will find us traveling to Busch Gardens amusement park in Williamsburgh, VA, staying overnight at Scott Memorial UMC in Virginia Beach, VA. After Sunday service at Scott Memorial UMC, we'll spend a few hours exploring the Virginia Beach boardwalk, sandy beaches and swimming in the Atlantic Ocean before we arrive in Plymouth, NC.
